hi everybody,
i got a juwel rio 240, which is 120x40x50 centimeters and around 240 liters.
in that tank i have a 6cm couple of a. compressiceps kiriza.
i was thinking , what would be good company for them in order to get an nice, active tank?
i had this in mind:
1male/1female a. compressiceps
2 male/2female? lamprologus caudopunctatus
and perhaps synodontis lucipinnis/petricola "dwarf"/ polli white zambia and paracyprochromis brieni/nigripinnis
what do you guys say?
any tips, or an specie that would fit better in the tank than a small group of caudopunks?
thnx a lot guys |

I would consider some Cyprichromis in lieu of Paracyps. The male Paracyps. like to hang out in a cave in the rockwork. Your Lamps. are also pretty fond of the rockwork. The Paracyps. might work but I wouldn't chance it. Cyps. will make the tank busy! I am no help with mixing Lamps. _________________ Lake Tanganyika...So many fish...So little time |

hmm...
at an netherlands forum they advise cyprochromis at an tank 150 cm +
so don't think that goes o.k.?
but my actual question is about the other cichlids.
would a pair of compressiceps and 2m/2f l. caudopunctatus work out?
and which room will the caudo's claim?
the shell's, the rocks, or will they swim free alot? |

i guess i found an solution.
i thought that maybe 2m/2f caudopunks would take to much space in the tank leaving no room for the altolamprologus (espacially the female, cuz she get's hunted away by the male too)
so i called one of the best cichlid shops in the netherlands.
by them i was told that i also could keep 1m/2f caudo's.
this takes way less space, because the females get along way better than the males, and can stay closer with each other.
so when breeding, 1m/2f don't take as much space |

| I have a trio of caudopunctatus and they for the most part stick in the same spot and defend. |
